By connecting devices to the Internet and making the devices "talk to each other," we can generate data that give us an opportunity to save time and money and to be more efficient in how we do things. In the power utility industry, the IoT is applied through the use of Smart Grid technology in distributing power supply to consumers. ⏩ I established Qualliant Solutions to help power utility companies deploy and implement Smart Grid or Smart City technologies, including Automated Metering Infrastructure, Meter Data Management and Outage Management System and their underlying technologies. Although most power utility companies, especially in the Caribbean region, have the resources to implement Smart Grid solutions, many do not have the expertise and skill sets needed to successfully implement Smart Grid projects. ⏩ My role is to help project managers in power utility companies IMPLEMENT SMART GRID solutions that will enable each household to manage their power consumption for maximum efficiency and better lifestyle.
