Quantity Surveyor Engineer Qse
On any construction project, the role of a quantity surveyor is of financial guardian. When you become one, you’ll become an expert in the art of costing a building at all stages. Not only that, but you’ll also ensure that each project meets legal and quality standards. A quantity surveyor works on a construction project from the very start. First, you’ll liaise with the client and their contractors during the contract process by engaging in preliminary cost analysis. Once work begins, you’ll oversee the ongoing costs of the project and evaluate ways to improve the client’s investment – this includes producing regular reports. As you become more experienced throughout your career, you’ll offer expert advice to the client and play an essential role in life cycle costing, cost planning, procurement and tendering, contract administration and commercial management. As a quantity surveyor, you could be involved as a specialist in one area or play an active role in several areas over the course of a project.
