Quayside Consultants is a dynamic engineering firm, set up in September 2019 to provide expert technical services in support of port and crane casualty damage claims. Quayside comprises a team of engineering specialists with hundreds of years of combined experience in accident investigation and port design and construction. Port and crane casualty damage is a niche area of marine insurance referred to as fixed and floating object damage (FFO). In addition to ships and barges it involves objects (structures) of steel, concrete and sometimes timber, as well as land-based equipment and machinery. These are designed by civil engineers or engineers of other specialized disciplines and as such their damage investigation require the specialist knowledge available within Quayside’s team of engineers to help reach acceptable technical and commercial solutions.
