Radio Alhara

Radio Alhara is a communal digital radio station that was initiated at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020. Alhara” in Arabic means the neighborhood. A community radio station that is trying to explore answers about the way we use spaces. A digital platform that aims to spatially recreate a neighborhood through the sound of communities which organically came together from all around the world to form a radio with over 185 monthly residents, from sound artists to DJs to music producers, music labels, art collectives, food artists, visual artists to architects and even political experts focusing on shaping a listening experience through a not-for-profit platform. A collective questioning the format of cultural institutions and the way they’ve been operating.
