In fact, in April 1996, Philadelphia magazine named Radnor Township as "The Best Place to Live in the Philadelphia Region." This honor was the result of a Quality of Life Index created by the magazine to rank 165 towns in the Philadelphia Region in 16 different categories, including: Amount of protected open space Availability of public transportation Commitment to schools Crime rate Degree of recycling Housing prices Overall trendiness Population diversity and density Quality of recreation Shopping facilities
