STOPPERS - Safe Train Preparation Reminders - are a new, innovative and easy to apply 'visual reminder device' to reduce the risk of operational incidents. STOPPERS are used within rail sidings during train preparation, rail wagon loading or discharge operations, and during rail vehicle maintenance. They can also be used inside locomotive cabs for out-of-course situations or en-route. STOPPERS assist in reducing the risk of- wheel flats, running over scotches, loading defective wagons, opening defective doors, overloading rail wagons due to contamination/residue, releasing rail wagons in an unsafe condition. STOPPERS are being used successfully within the UK rail industry as a-* visual reminder device * safety warning * risk assessment control * training aid * method of work enhancement * quality control * Designed and IPO registered by Rail Safety Reminders Ltd, STOPPERS are manufactured in Great Britain and are extremely easy to spot during train preparation/roll-by checks - raising awareness that a handbrake might still be applied. STOPPERS can be easily attached to handbrake wheels, door levers, drawbar hooks, or to the sides or ends of rail wagons. They are highly visible during daylight, during the hours of darkness or in poor visibility. They are manufactured from high visibility EN20471 fabric with reflective strips, glow-in-the-dark tape and a wipeable plastic cover. They can be supplied with a selection of wording on the labels including BRAKE, SCOTCH, DO NOT LOAD etc. STOPPERS are securely attached by using an adjustable hook and loop fastening (on the Tag design), or an adjustable elasticated cord and toggle (on the Cross design). Designs can be ‘tweaked’ to meet your requirements e.g, alternative colours, wording or languages, adding magnets, etc. STOPPERS aren't just restricted for use on trains, they can be used within any industry where personnel require an easy to use, highly visible safety reminder device.
