Raina DeGraaf is a mission-driven urban planning and design consultancy based in the San Francisco Bay Area. We specialize in community-centered planning processes that advance environmental justice, resilience, and spatial equity—particularly in historically marginalized and climate-vulnerable communities. Founded by Shivani Raina-DeGraaf, an architect and urban planner with experience across sectors, the firm bridges systems thinking with creative design. Since 2020, we’ve partnered with local governments, nonprofits, and grassroots coalitions to deliver plans, policies, and visual tools that translate community vision into tangible outcomes. Past clients and collaborators include the U.S. Green Building Council, the San Francisco Bay Conservation & Development Commission, the Oakland Department of Transportation, and the North Richmond Coalition—comprising organizations like CHDC, Urban Tilth, Contra Costa Housing Authority, Verde K-8, and The Watershed Project.
