Meet Kenrick Smith, the sand artist behind Rake Healing. In 2020, Kenrick found himself struggling with his mental health during the pandemic lockdowns. Searching for calm, he turned to nature and started drawing in the sand. What began as a coping mechanism turned into a passion for large-scale sand art. Kenrick's art is not just about creating beautiful designs on the beach, but also about exploring creativity and mindfulness. Being conscious of one's breath, grounded in nature and moving your body, brings about a profound sense of calm. Beyond art, Kenrick has a passion for helping people to thrive in life, through his Yarns with Rick, mindset and growth coaching. He is based in Pāpāmoa Beach in the Bay of Plenty with his wife Jasmine Kroeze, who is also an artist, and their two young children. Kenrick is available for art commissions, group lessons, and team building days using sand art to teach mindfulness. He also offers one-on-one coaching and shares his inspiring story through public speaking engagements.
