RANTAO ATTORNEYS, established in 2019, is one of the leading law firms in Botswana in the areas of Administrative Law, Procurement Law, Construction Law, Human Rights, Constitutional Law, Public Interest Litigation and Employment Law. It also specializes in Conveyancing, Property Law, Debt Collection, Contract Law, Commercial Law, and Consultancy Services, amongst others. Its Managing Partner and founder, Mr. Tshiamo Rantao, has, over the years, won many locus classicus cases which are celebrated not only in Botswana but across the globe. In 2023, he was appointed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) as a non-permanent member of the Court on a three-year contract. CAS, whose headquarters are in Lausanne, Switzerland, is an international body stablished in 1984 to settle disputes related to sports. He is one of the first two Batswana to be appointed to the CAS since its establishment. Mr. Rantao has a wealth of experience, he having been in private practice since November 2001. He worked at Lerumo Mogobe Legal Practitioners from 2001 to 2006, and then he established Motsaathebe Rantao Attorneys in 2007, and, thereafter, Rantao Kewagamang Attorneys which subsisted from 2008 to 2019 when he established Rantao Attorneys. Currently, the firm boasts of seven (7) attorneys, three (3) legal interns, one (1) paralegal, and (6) support staff members. It is located on the Grand Union Building in the Central Business District (CBD), Gaborone, Botswana, directly opposite the High Court and the Court of Appeal i.e the Botswana seat of justice.
