RareField Design/Build is a full-service design, general contracting, and garden maintenance firm operating in San Francisco’s Mission District. Starting in 1992 as an extension of the unique Paxton Gate store and vision, RareField stepped out on its own in 2015 to reflect it’s growing catalog of diverse work including not just remarkable San Francisco gardens, but also interiors, and award-winning restaurant and commercial projects. In all of these spaces, RareField’s focus on the synthesis of design and craft has been both a guiding principle and a defining characteristic of the work. Blurring the line between inside and outside, utilizing and featuring natural materials and natural light, and executing the designs with the highest level of precision and skill has set RareField apart from its competitors and also made them a chosen collaborator and builder for the work of similarly-minded design firms. At RareField, the process is collaborative, knowledgeable, and pragmatic. We design and build spaces that enhance human experience, with a practical assessment of costs, feasibility, and longevity from the very outset.
