Ratiopharm Ulm

ratiopharm ulm is the sporting symbol of an entire region. Since 2006, the club, which was established in 2001, continuously competes in Germany's highest basketball league, the easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga (BBL). The relocation to the ratiopharm arena in December 2011 was the start of the most successful period in the club's history to date: eleven playoff appearances in the BBL and the establishment among the top 30 teams in Europe are testament to this. The season 2016/17 in particular took a record-breaking course with 27 consecutive national league victories - a record still unmatched today. With the opening of the OrangeCampus in 2020 the club achieved the next milestone. BBU '01, the club behind the professional team, is home to the country's second-most active basketball athletes and with the arrival at the OrangeCampus this number increased to licensed players. To achieve this, the club invested 23 million euros in the youth performance center and ensured that the core values of "pioneering spirit" and " development hunger" are henceforth experienced in Ulm. As a "talent factory", the champions of tomorrow shall be developed while simultaneously the game of basketball is promoted in the region, with close ties to the region and its people. This was demonstrated by the club's most recent impressive win of the BBL championship in 2023, when ratiopharm ulm and head coach Anton Gavel were able to defeat the highly favored teams from Berlin, Munich and Bonn. Entering the playoffs only as a seventh seed, ratiopharm ulm has thereby made history.
