Rato Ao Sol

RATO AO SOL is a Luso-Spanish platform for the emerging arts, founded by curators Francisca Portugal and Whataboutvic in 2022. Having met in Lisbon in 2021, the pair’s objective is to foster an international friendship-based network between Spain, Portugal and beyond. Through intimate interviews and collaborations, RATO AO SOL aims to provide a space for artists and curators to speak about their practices. As a consultancy studio, RATO AO SOL provides extensive mentoring sessions, supporting artists with exhibition curation, production, and career development. Since its launch, RATO AO SOL has worked with over 50 artists, interviewed more than 25, and curated two collective exhibitions in Lisbon. Through these efforts, RATO AO SOL aims to nurture the growth of emerging artists and art professionals across both creative and administrative processes.
