Reading Camp

Reading Camp empowers children grades 2-5 to become academically and socially successful. This is done through one-week summer camps and follow-up thorughout the school year. Students who are struggling with reading are invited to attend a summer camp free of charge. The morning activites at camp center around one-on-one intensive academic instruction. The afternoons at camp are filled with fun and challenging activities that encourage campers to discover, learn and grow through play, team building activities, music, art and science activities and social interaction. Reading camps are staffed by volunteers from all age groups. Volunteers are retired and current educators, professionals, business owners, clergy, college students and high school students. Campers experience a very rich, diverse environment where they easily find someone with whom they can identify. Menor relationships that strenghten camper confidence and connection to the work are key to Reading Camp success.
