Reading Welfare Rights
WHO WE ARE Based in Reading, our small team of expert caseworkers offer free advice and assistance to help relieve poverty, sickness and distress. We provide welfare benefit advice where people have complex cases and needs. We guide clients through the daunting appeals processes to secure just outcomes, often acting as their advocate. A quarter of our clients have multiple disabilities and/or mental health issues therefore it is essential to help and guide our clients make a successful claim. Our organisation works in partnership with 'Communicare' and 'Citizen's Advice, Reading' as part of Reading Borough Council’s “Narrowing the Gap" Programme, a fund which is awarded to organisations who strive to support and advise the most impoverished people in Reading to ensure that they receive all the help and support to which they are entitled. Hoping to significantly expand our network with local charities, we work together across Reading to help and support the most disadvantaged communities in the town. CONTACT US Our office is located in Whitley, South Reading; one of the most disadvantaged areas in the town, where a high proportion of our clients live. Our office experiences high demand from clients who ‘drop in’ or attend for a pre-booked appointment. We also hold drop-in benefit surgeries at venues around Reading, attend community events and can also make house calls when necessary. In addition to guiding our clients who require assistance, we aim to connect with our local charities and create more partnerships in the near future.
