Ready2Respond is a Unique Global Collaboration of Partners from the Public, Private and Non-Profit Sectors Committed to Augmenting Low- and Middle-Income Countries’ Readiness to Respond Against Influenza and Emerging Respiratory Viral Pandemics. Our mission is to assure the world’s readiness to respond to the next pandemic through transformative change in vaccine access and immunization policy, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries. The emergence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the resulting and ongoing pandemic makes the work of Ready2Respond more critical than ever. While influenza programs clearly reduce the annual influenza disease burden, they are also a mechanism to strengthen preparedness for future epidemics and pandemics – including the creation of vaccine delivery systems. Influenza program infrastructure is already supporting the efforts to fight COVID-19 and will be utilized to respond to COVID-19 as vaccines become more broadly available. As a public/private partnership, Ready2Respond is made up of representatives from governments, industry, academia, non-governmental organizations, and philanthropy – that can collectively accomplish objectives beyond the scope and capacity of any single organization.
