Donaciano “Don” Oscar Cantu is the Owner and Principal Assessor of Red River Scientific, LLC, a reputable assessment provider specializing in laboratory accreditation and quality assurance. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Texas at San Antonio. His expertise includes serving as a Certified Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Drinking Water Certification Officer and a Certified Lead Assessor for The NELAC Institute and ISO 17025:2017. Mr. Cantu's extensive experience encompasses various roles such as Quality Assurance Officer for a major public water system in Texas, where he successfully managed and improved the Quality Assurance Program, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. At Red River Scientific, Mr. Cantu leads assessments on behalf of laboratory accreditation programs, specializing in ISO 17025:2017 and 2016 The NELAC Institute (TNI) Standard. He also provides various compliance and quality management training. He was recognized for his contributions to the industry, co-presenting at CWEA 2018 on the implementation of assessment standards. Prior to establishing Red River Scientific, Cantu held positions including Quality Assurance Assistant, State Assessor for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and Laboratory Manager at Texas State University. His roles involved managing document control processes, conducting assessments and leading student workers in laboratory preparations. Cantu's comprehensive skill set includes excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, project management, critical thinking, problem-solving and adaptability.
