Redeem is a leading provider of mobile industry services to businesses and consumers. Redeem provides trade-in and buy-back programmes for MNOs and retailers with services that include device diagnostics, data erasure, refurbishment, reselling and digital marketing. Redeem’s customers around the world include Telefónica UK (O2 Recycle), Three, Vodafone, Tesco Mobile, giffgaff, Bell Canada, CellC, Telia Sonera, Samsung, Telenor and Tele2. Through its consumer brand, Envirofone, Redeem allows consumers to make money by trading in their old device. The Envirofone online shop sells high-quality refurbished phones and accessories, which have been subject to a 100 point quality check. In 2017, Envirofone began selling pre-owned phones direct to consumers. Redeem operates in 32 countries on three continents, with regional offices in the UK, Iberia (Spain), Austria, Nordic/Baltic (Sweden and Estonia), Asia (Hong Kong) and Middle East (Dubai). £75 million has been returned to customers for their old phones in FY17. Under Redeem’s continuing partnership with Telefónica UK on the O2 Recycle scheme, the largest of its kind in Europe, £165 million has now been given to UK consumers. Around 95% of the traded-in devices Redeem handle are data-wiped, refurbished and resold. The 5% that cannot be restored are fully recycled, leading to zero waste going to landfill.
