Reel Start

Founded in 2016 by filmmaker Evan Goldberg (Superbad, The Boys, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, The Studio) and educator Adrienne Slover, Reel Start is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that breaks down financial barriers to open pathways for high school students from historically marginalized communities to access the film and television industry. Through a range of programs and initiatives, students gain hands-on experience creating original short films from script to premiere, explore career pathways through mentorship and skills training, and access opportunities including internships, set visits, and job placements — building the tools, experience and connections needed to thrive in the entertainment industry.
