With content creators spread throughout the world working in solitary conditions vs. together as the result of COVID-19 social distancing regulations, it became even more clear that there is a missing link in the production space to efficiently collaborate while apart. As a result the idea for ReelTime was born from a veteran CTO of the Media & Entertainment space. This direct-from-non-linear editing (NLE) real-time video streaming solution offers a first-of-its-kind collaborative application that enables raw video output to be captured directly from an editor’s timeline in Adobe Premiere of Avid Media Composer and relayed to any number of viewers. Current offerings require expensive hardware, complicated setup, or can be classified as glorified Zoom screen-shares, where ReelTime’s software will offer producers and clients the opportunity to see only what’s intended and wanted—the content—for the first time ever. Taking full advantage of encrypted web real time communication and two-factor authentication, ReelTime will appease the most critical of digital security teams, giving no doubt that their content is safe and secure. The virtual studio initiative is just the beginning, and ReelTime intends on making itself a pivotal element in all future productions. The company is planning for a late Q4 2020 test launch, with full capabilities available early in Q1 of 2021.
