Remote & Digital starts with a love story. Actually two love stories. Fine let’s make it three. The first one is with my wife Emilie, with whom I came to Thailand on our honeymoon. The second one with an island in the middle of the Bay of Thailand, that I had never heard of until I set foot on Koh Phangan. This newfound love, combined with my passion for the restaurant and hotel industries, and a desperate need to reconnect with something authentic, led me to invest in my first business. I made la Casa Tropicana our home. What initially started out as an ordinary restaurant and hotel, focused on catering to the average tourists in search of sun, sand, and the Full Moon Party, soon became a favorite hang out for digital nomads and remote workers from all over the world, looking to escape the big city and its toxic cocktail of toxic work environment, overpopulation, pollution, and bad weather. Day after day they came back, sat down at one of our tables, conducted their meeting, worked on their deadlines. In between they would come and talk to us, sharing their stories, expressing their love for our business, and even helped us make it better by suggesting new ways of promoting it that we had no idea about. They were young and highly qualified, yet polite and appreciative. No more getting yelled at because coffee is too hot or soda is too cold. Nothing but caring support and good advice. You have shown me the way. I will not fail you. This lifestyle of yours is now my third love. We implemented the coworking space, converted our dorms into private rooms, started to work on building a community, organized yoga and meditation classes, and never looked back. To support the remote working revolution is what I wake up for in the morning. Today we have two properties fully equipped to make sure you live your best life.
