Renewable Power Ltd is a Company that generates electricity from only renewable sources in New Zealand and Chile. The Company was founded in 1995 with the construction of the Karaponga Power Station. Since then the Company has acquired and developed a number of hydropower sites in both New Zealand and Chile. Renewable Power Ltd currently operates two hydropower sites with four development projects. All of the hydropower projects operate using the ‘run-of-river’ method which has far less impact on the environment than the damming of river valleys. The Company engages positively with communities through school tours and native tree plantings at our hydropower sites.
