Rentkar started as a simple idea to earn pocket money by sharing personal products like PlayStations, musical instruments, and laptops around college. Tanuj Agarwalla, along with co-founders Mudit and Kudale, spent their days delivering items themselves, often returning home late, but fueled by excitement for the potential this venture held. During the lockdown, the business took a more defined shape. As deliveries slowed, the team had time to reflect on Rentkar's purpose. One thing stood out from their early interactions with households—almost every home had 2-4 unused products just sitting idle. This realization sparked a bigger vision: Rentkar could become a platform that encourages people to share and rent rather than buy. Today, Rentkar’s mission is to fight overconsumption by promoting a sharing economy. We empower people to access the products they need without the burden of ownership, driving more sustainable lifestyles. Our platform allows users to rent everything from electronics to gaming consoles, reducing waste and giving people more freedom in how they consume.
