If you're feeling burnt out, you have "mental filters" in your mind- driven by beliefs, attitudes, memories and language- that are causing your perception of the external events in your life to be somewhat negative and false. This causes chronic stress, which if left untreated, causes burnout, and leads to all sorts of mental health problems, including emotional exhaustion; cynism & reduced professional efficacy. If your mind was a garden bed, these "mental filters" are the equivalent to "weeds." In order to be removed so that they never grow back, the"weeds" need to be ripped out of the garden, roots and all!
