Restorative Sleep, LLC is owned by licensed psychologist, Dr. Catherine Loomis. Dr. Loomis is certified in behavioral sleep medicine, and Restorative Sleep is dedicated exclusively to helping patients improve their sleep. The most popular service offered is cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia, or CBT-I. CBT-I is a good alternative to sleep medications, and it has been recommended by the American College of Physicians as the first-line treatment for insomnia. Restorative Sleep also offers treatment for people with sleep apnea who have difficulty adjusting to their CPAP, those with circadian rhythm disorders (for example, shift work or "night owl" patterns), and those with chronic nightmares. Patients meet one-on-one with Dr. Loomis in 45 minute sessions. The first session involves assessment, where patients are asked questions about their sleep. Patients may be asked to complete a brief log of their sleep. Sessions are similar to physical therapy in that patients learn about their sleep and are taught skills in the sessions, which they then apply at home.
