Retreat Recording Studios

Retreat is a boutique tracking studio which includes a Neve PSM console and EMi pre amps. Based in Ovingdean and only ten minutes from Brighton station,the studio is very quite due to its location in this small village just by the sea. There are 2 studios on the complex both have natural light and overlook our gardens. STUDIO ONE A very well equipped tracking studio, featuring a 12 channel 1970s Neve PSM console (1081 pre amps), 2 EMI REDD series pres, 2 EMI REDD.47 series pres,2 EMI Vintage 1962 Pres,Neve 1073,API Pres, Pro Tools HD (including Prism Dream ADA-8 converters), we have a good selection of outboard and a broad stock of high end microphones (including Neumann, Coles, AEA and Earthworks). The main live room has a high vaulted celing and a lovely acoustic tone which has been honed to give you clear, accurate recordings without losing the character of the room. It's perfect for anything from drums to brass to vocals. The second live room contains a Yamaha C6 Grand piano which is maintained to very high standard at all times. STUDIO TWO A mix / comping / editing room and ideal for any other Pro Tools work which does not require tracking facilities. Equipped with a pair of Spendors SA500s, this room will give you a completely true representation of your mix and also has a selection of outboard including a Chiswick Reach and a Clariphonic. Set in an acre of stunning landscaped gardens, minutes walk from the sea, this studio is as equipped as it is picturesque; you have everything you could need to write, record and mix a record using the highest quality equipment in the most relaxed and beautiful setting.
