Joginder Pal Sharma aka Jogi is a prominent Saxophone and Cello player and a Music Composer. He is a multi-instrumentalist a Special Grade Musician at Cine Musicians Association. He masters different instruments such as Saxophone, Cello, Indian and Western Flute, Mandolin, Guitar, Israj and Clarinet. His experiments with Instruments Born in a holy city of Amritsar in India, Music has always been his passion as his father Late Sh. Gyan Sharma was a singer, musician and dancer in the Little Ballet Troupe founded by his guru Shri Shanti Bardhan at Mumbai. His father was also his first guru and multi-instrumentalist himself. Jogi was also taught by Late Pandit Sitaram ji, his vocal guru. However, it was instrumental music, which really drew out the musician in Jogi. Starting with the Chandrasarang and Israj under his father's guidance, Jogi soon took over the Cello, his favourite instrument, which he mastered under the guidance of Late Mr. George Lester and Mr. Parvez Doctor in Mumbai. Jogi did not stop here. He also succeeded in capturing the finer aspect of playing Indian Flute under Sh. Sumant Raj ji, one of the oldest flutists of Indian cinema and Founder president of cine musician’s association Mumbai, and later in Delhi from Sh. Vishnu Prasanna ji. Jogi learned Clarinet and Saxophone from Mr. Carlos D'mello. He has learnt Concert Flute from Late Mr. Micky Correa in Mumbai, Mandolin from Shri Mussrat Ali (Sarod Player), Harmonium and Vocal from Shri Sajjad Ahmed. Jogi started his musical journey in the films with Great Laxmikant Pyarelal for “Kranti” in 1980 and spent about eight years of his life in the industry performing for most of the music directors of that time 1980-1986. He had the privilege to work with Pandit Ravi Shankar, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pandit Vijay Raghav Rao, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Mr.Vanraj Bhatia, Pandit Jwala Prasad, Mr Partho Das and has performed with Delhi Symphony Orchestra and B.P. Musicals regularly.
