Richardson Properties is a private real estate investment company which owns directly or through joint-ventures, a number of office, industrial, retail and apartment properties located in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The Company is primarily an equity investor, and uses its financial strength and experience in development, construction, property management and leasing to add value to its properties and developments. The Company typically partners with developers to develop, construct or acquire real estate. Its depth of experience and range of activities positions it to be a true partner in its projects, not merely an investor. Richardson shares in the completion and pro-rata loan repayment guaranties. Richardson Properties is owned by the Richardson family who founded, controlled, and grew Richardson-Vicks into a Fortune 250 company starting with their Vicks Vaporub product. In various forms, Richardson Properties is over 100 years old. Richardson has no set hold period for properties but typically holds properties for the medium to longer term given that is looks for properties that have locations that compete on more than price. Richardson can do multiple deals at once, typically in recent years with 5+ construction projects underway at any one time. Our partners have ranged from smaller regional developers to larger firms including national apartment developer of the year and a publicly traded REIT.
