Human health is fast emerging as a complex interplay of multiple forces outside the control of an individual or a group of people. The world is trying to engage in a collaborative, multi-sectoral and multidisciplinary approach to address human health in the context of a shared environment for all living beings, a concept gaining ground worldwide in recent years. The world needs organized efforts in combating a growing burden of complex health issues ranging from infectious and nutritional disorders to environmental, occupational, and chronic health problems. The pandemic of the COVID-19 virus has posed a formidable threat even to the most equipped and prepared nations in the world, thus further increasing the need for institutions invested in global health solutions contextualized to local needs and resources. Ramaiah International Centre for Public Health Innovations (RICPHI), Bangalore is the latest addition to the Ramaiah group of institutions of higher learning and healthcare operated by the Gokula Education Foundation (Medical). RICPHI aims to invest efforts towards understanding the nature of and exploring innovative solutions to complex problems of human health, particularly in India and other Low- and Middle-Income Countries.
