Rinomina

Initiated to promote a closer exchange of artistic practices on the contemporary scene, Rinomina has exhibited since the beginning artists with project each time strongly different one from another. Our goal is to develop independent structures for dialogue, a ground of possibility that favors a close exchange between international & french artists of the contemporary scene. Rinomina, is a transitive verb {consists of re- and name} it means to name again, even in the sense of re-election; to re-name or change of a name; in particular, in the informatics, assign a file or document, a different title from the previous one. Is the italian expression for renaming a file on a computer. The fascinating possibility of literally renaming everything is the main inspiration for this exhibition space. We love the contrasts and paradoxes that life show to us, so we try to use the tools at our disposal, to accentuate this condition in our program. Daniela Baldelli and Markus Lichti, both graduates at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe in Germany, are based in Paris since 2010.
