Ritmanpay’s story goes back to the early when the word startup was just gaining popularity and the word FinTech almost never existed. Founded in the year 2005 in Mumbai under the name Target Remit©, the business mainly focused on acting as a technology provider and back-office outsourcing partner to multiple money service operators in those days. Come 2015, Target Remit© was then taken over by the Ritman Group under the leadership of Praveen Chandiramani & Sagar Chandiramani who saw the opportunity in tapping the full potential of the remittance platform and global agent network that Target Remit© had developed over the years. Target Remit© then went on to be renamed to what we now call, ritmanpay. Over the last decade, the world has seen a dynamic evolution in the tech space with consumers wishing to have everything at their fingertips with just a click of a button – more so, with the turn of events in 2020, the world has plunged itself into the future of the digital world. At this point, the global remittances are pacing towards becoming a trillion-dollar industry with several economies relying on incoming remittances to boost their GDPs. At ritmanpay, we not only provide clients with a state-of-the-art remittance and bill payments platform with a global agent network covering 200+ partnerships across all continents, but also extend the tools to reach out to their customers at their doorsteps through our digitization and remote banking solutions such as kiosks, mobile application and portable handheld terminals. Five years from ritmanpay’s launch, the FinTech business has been able to scale up with offices in the UAE, India, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia (representative office) and aims to enable institutions in the MENA region to realize the region’s vision of a digital future.
