River Hart Sanctuary

River Hart Sanctuary is an equine sanctuary established to give a permanent home to rescued and retired working horses. In turn, our horses support the work we do for those in our community with a focus on the wellbeing of both humans and horses. We are supporting members of the local community on the borders of Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire, on a journey towards wellness and providing a safe-haven, and stimulating fresh insights in helping people to deal with anxiety. We deliver bespoke courses in an outdoor, equine based, environment that helps support those suffering from grief, loss, and heartbreak; those who work in jobs that regularly deal with life-changing situations, including death, such as emergency service workers and end-of-life carers; and are committed to supporting young adults aged between 16 and 25 who need help with confidence and anxiety. Our horses, when cared for and brought back to health with love and patience, help to create a unique and holistic therapeutic environment which is essential when supporting humans suffering from grief, loss, and heartbreak. At the Sanctuary we are diligent in keeping our environment organic and ensuring we protect the natural beauty of the 26-acre site. Both the horses and the natural environment are essential in creating a strong therapeutic ethos and balance.
