River Queen Artisans Gallery

The newest jewel in Lambertville’s gallery scene, River Queen Artisans, is opening to provide exhibition space to a wide-range of local artists/artisans. River Queen Artisans plans to put more money in area artists’ pockets by allowing artists to set their own prices while paying low commission fees to the cooperatively owned gallery. “Our vision is to create a space that helps sustain Lambertville as an arts community by using this progressive business plan,” says Jane Spencer Wesby, gallery’s co-owner and jewelry designer. River Queen Artisans is the brainchild of three of its featured artists: Allen Sassman, Jane Spencer Wesby and Jacqueline ter Kuile. By sharing expenses and keeping overhead low, the three artists’ goal is to create a gallery-business that supports the economic health and sustainability of the wider local-artist community.The gallery is located at 8 Church Street, in the historic Union #1 Firehouse and will be open Wednesday through Sunday with special extended hours on 2nd Saturdays and during community festivals such as Shad Fest and Winter Festival.
