Radiation Monitoring Devices, Inc.(RMD) is among the foremost experts in the fields of radiation detection and imaging, nuclear instrumentation, and non-destructive test equipment. Rather than building out their own internal research group, partners utilize RMD’s research capabilities as an effective and cost efficient solution. Partners can also utilize RMD’s research expertise in combination with their own development capabilities to advance product commercialization from preliminary testing to prototyping, and ultimately to full-scale manufacturing. In recognition of work that makes the world a safer and healthier place, and outstanding contributions to the SBIR program, RMD received the National Tibbett’s Award in 2002, and again in 2012. PRODUCT COMMERCIALIZATION RMD also commercializes its own research and technologies with the same commitment to process and quality for which its research is known. As such, its reputation is expanding to encompass reliable commercial production of high-quality scintillators and detectors. Its range of dual-mode gamma-neutron scintillators, notably the patented CLLBC, saves cost and enables first responders to rapidly and accurately detect a broad range of potential threats.
