Robert Dye Architects was formed in 1990 and soon afterward was picked out by the Architecture Foundation as one of Britain's best young architecture practices. Three decades on and the practice continues to go from strength to strength: we won the Manser Medal (for the best new one-off house of the year), a Housing Design Award, and various others relating to one-off residential design - securing our reputation as an outstanding architect making a real difference for our clients. We use strategies that are simple and straightforward to capture the best potential of a site, while drawing on a language of craftsmanship and material understanding. Together, we create an architecture that brings artisanal expertise into contemporary relevance. Our architecture is informed by our continued dedication to academic research. Through our Urban Design unit at the Bartlett, the design of an individual house is responsive to the scale of the wider city and landscape. Robert Dye Architects is a Chartered Practice validated by the Royal Institute of British Architects.
