Robin Van Wijk

Robin van Wijk is a Dutch Graphic Designer who, for 5 years has been based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Robin graduated with a degree in Graphic Design from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, Netherlands. While in school, Robin worked as a freelance graphic designer and as a silk screen instructor with various clientele and companies in Holland. Kapitaal, an established printing workspace was one of many projects Robin co-founded and instructed at, teaching screen-printers of all levels gain skills and knowledge. Not only does Robin have a personal interest in this particular printing method for it’s historic vibrant and efficient results, but also uses it to execute his own design work in the best possible way. After graduating from art school, Robin received one of fifteen Dutch Young Talent Awards for promising graduates in his class. Alongside this publication and award, Robin was also featured in an article on “It’s Nice That,” noted for “[His] outstanding signature style that blends futuristic vector graphics with Matisse-esque torn shapes, he’s also an incredibly talented screen-printer, and has created some stunning animations from hand-pulled prints as part of his graduation project. Slow work I’m sure, but well worth the effort.” Now after having been in the United States Robin is working as the creative lead at a biotech start-up in San Francisco, called Orphidia. Bringing his Dutch design skills and expertise to create an innovative brand for an innovative healthcare company. Experience that he's now projecting on multiple other startups to (re)brand ideas he believes in and helps towards a successful communication and identity.
