Rodinia

Rodinia is a musical trio formed by pianist Ferdie van Assche, violinist Esther Damsma - in 't Groen and bass clarinettist Steven Henry. The musical mix the trio plays consists of classical music, latin, minimal music and jazz. Or, easier said, Rodinia just performs the music the players like the most. As a result the repertoire varies from pieces by Mendelssohn to Frahm and from Piazzolla to Pärt. Besides performing existing works, Rodinia commissions contemporary composers and the three musicians compose music themselves. In this way, Rodinia broadens its renewing and inspiring repertoire with an open mindset. Because of the variation between performing classics and new works, between improvisation and composition, the concerts of Rodinia are always a unique experience.
