ROMA Publications Ltd was set up in by Marcus Howarth, who wanted to put into practice the ideas he had nurtured as a sales manager with some of the North West’s biggest publishing firms. Premier Construction, the first magazine produced under the ROMA banner, remains the company’s flagship title today; however it is now accompanied by a series of equally successful titles including Business Connections, a magazine devoted to North West commerce, and Chamber Voice, a publication which gets to the heart of legal affairs in our region. Under Marcus’ astute leadership ROMA has grown steadily over the past nine years, and is on course to achieve £1 million turnover in a calendar year for the first time ever. Having helped numerous advertisers re-word and re-design their adverts over the years, ROMA has now launched its own design service to help North West companies re-establish their brand presence with punchy, eye-catching copy and concepts. As its tenth birthday approaches ROMA shows no sign of slowing. Recent growth seems set to continue as the new studio comes on stream, and the company’s stable of magazines is proving as popular as ever. ROMA now boasts one of the youngest and most dynamic creative teams in the North West, and a group of managers who have grown with the company and become pillars of its success.
