ROOM 1909 is a custom menswear suits company inspired by the legendary Dominican gentleman Porfirio Rubirosa born in 1909. Rubirosa was a style icon and to many the last true cavalier of the twentieth century. Not only did he marry three of the richest women of the world, but he was considered the "ultimate man's man" during the jet set years of the forties and fifties. Rubirosa would dance, sports, practice polo, love women (not woman), fly airplanes, race convertibles and search for sunken treasures. Inspired by this lifestyle Ian Fleming created James Bond; and we created ROOM1909. Our concept showcases an outlook on life, a one-stop solution to embracing elegant men, fashion, style, personality, authenticity and creativity. In short, Room 1909 is pure joie de vivre - from head to toe.
