Roots Heritage

Roots Heritage come out of the shadow! Hailing originally from Guyana, Martinique and France, Pierre Chabrele, Rico Gaultier, Rudi Bennett, Dominick Marie-Joseph, Greg Emonet and Jason Wilson first cross paths on different projects, for some, 20 years ago. After performing in the 4 corners of the world, they reunite in Paris, bonding naturally and spontaneously. They decide to work together on a common project, speaking French, English, Creole or simply the universal language of music. Roots Heritage comes into being in 2017. With solid reputations on the national and international scene, the members of Roots Heritage start building an original repertoire. Their innovative compositions are rooted in Jamaican riddims which elegantly intersperse with Jazz solos and Metallic riffs juxtaposing with Mento, Rocksteady, Reggae, Ska … They spend more and more time recording at the No Joke Studio. When the album is almost finished, the group presents its compositions to Max Romeo who is moved from the first listen,"I haven’t heard anything so good in 40 years! These are hits!“ Seven original Roots Heritage compositions feature on Max’s "Words From The Brave" album and result in a tour. Around the same time, they submit their album tracks for mixing to Ariwa Sounds who is immediately excited by the project. Rico and Pierre leave for London in summer 2017, where Mad Professor and Joe Ariwa add their Magic Dub Touch to the band’s production, which goes on to be mastered by Serial P at the DubWise Factory Studio. At long last, Roots Heritage come out of the shadow to perform in Greater Paris in early 2019. They sign up with Ariwa Sounds for their first album "Levelution", to be released very soon.
