Ropes Literary Journal

ROPES Literary Journal is published annually by students of the MA in Literature and Publishing at the University of Galway. When ROPES started out in 1992, initial editions focused on Irish politics, history, and literature. Over the years, the journal began to include works of fiction, the first being featured in 1998. More recently, the journal has endeavoured to include a wider array of material, ranging from poetry and non-fiction to visual art. This year is no different; the ROPES Team remains dedicated to showcasing a broad and inclusive range of work. Our main goal is to offer a platform from which established and emerging writers and artists, especially underrepresented voices, can exhibit their work for a literary audience. The theme for our 34tg issue will be "punk." Punk is many things to many people. Punk is rebellion. Punk is anti-establishment. Punk is love. Punk is loud. Punk is colour. Punk is community. Punk is dystopia. Punk is utopia. Punk is past. Punk is present. Punk is future. Punk is not dead.
