Rostro De Cristo

Rostro de Cristo (RdC) is an international and intercultural solidarity program with more than 35 years of experience inspiring a commitment to a faith that works for justice by bringing people together on the margins in the spirit of mutuality, learning, and service. For its first 35 years, RdC operated in Ecuador, hosting year-long volunteers, week-long retreats and working to serve the communities in which they lived. As a part of its commitment to encounter and build relationships on the margins today, RdC does its work in the Dominican Republic as a strategic partner of ASCALA (Asociación Scalabriniana al Servicio de la Movilidad Humana), an international NGO founded and led by the Missionary Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo (also known as the Scalabrini Sisters). ASCALA promotes and safeguards the rights of migrant communities in the Dominican Republic, especially Haitians and Dominicans of Haitian descent. Their invaluable work includes providing legal aid, education, health and social services, community development, women’s empowerment, and entrepreneurship training.
