Rslab Unitrento
The Remote Sensing Laboratory (RSLab) at the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Trento develops research activities on remote sensing and radar applied to Earth observation and planetary exploration. In Earth Observation, RSLab designs advanced methodologies and techniques (e.g, based on artificial intelligence, signal/image processing, data fusion) for the automatic analysis of multispectral and hyperspectral images, SAR and radar sounder data, as well as LiDAR point clouds. In planetary exploration, RSLab leads the design, development and operation of radar sounders instruments aimed to the investigation of the subsurface of celestial bodies of the Solar system. In this context, the laboratory coordinates the Radar for Icy Moon Exploration (RIME) on the ESA JUpiter ICy moons Explorer (JUICE) to the Jovian system, and the Subsurface Radar Sounder (SRS) on the ESA EnVision mission to Venus.
