Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway

The Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway is the Ontario access road portion of a new end-to-end border transportation system at Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan. This is Canada’s busiest land border crossing and premier trade corridor. The completed project, which will include the Parkway, a Canadian inspection plaza, an international bridge, a U.S. inspection plaza and a U.S. interchange, will connect Canadian Highway 401 to the U.S. Interstate system for the first time, easing the movement of goods and people to and from the Windsor-Detroit border. The Parkway, as a $1.4 billion construction effort, represents one of the most significant infrastructure undertakings in Ontario to date. Its development will help to create an estimated jobs, both through direct employment in construction, and the indirect employment of supporting suppliers and service providers. Construction started on the Parkway in August 2011. The Parkway is executed by a composite team of professional staff in the areas of Communications, Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Environmental Affairs, Policy and more.
