Rubio

RUBIO, the regional entrepreneurial alliance for the development of value chains for technical bioplastics in Central Germany, aims to produce its own bioplastics with a high variety of variants completely from renewable raw material sources on the basis of the cellulose and lignocellulose-containing residues and valuable materials available in large quantities in the region, that do not compete with food production. With this, RUBIO wants to serve the extensive demand of the regional and, in the long term, the supraregional plastics industry and, in accordance with a holistic recycling approach, to develop the appropriate recycling and reuse strategies. Our vision is to establish with RUBIO an innovative and sustainably successful competence cluster for bio-based and biodegradable bioplastics in Central Germany - across the entire value chain from raw material to recycling. To this end, RUBIO also pursues its own innovative training and further education concept, which is intended to raise the alliance partners to a worldwide top level in handling and processing technical bioplastics. RUBIO is thus making a significant contribution to the structural change process that has been initiated in the Central Germany region by developing new growth and employment prospects for regional companies in the chemical industry, which should remain an important industrial core in the future.
