Over the following six years, its ethos of bringing the everyday wine drinker a great range of wines at honest prices earned it a loyal following. Despite the best efforts of its owner, board, and staff, Rude's approach was perhaps ahead of its time, and at the end of 2019, the difficult decision to close the business was taken.
