Rufford Pharmaceuticals was founded by former executives of Metro Medical – a $2 billion specialty drug distributor located in Nashville Tn with the goal of providing clinics and pharmacies a 5% or greater savings on a select portfolio of oncology and non-oncology generic pharmaceuticals. The company executives recognize that clinics and retail pharmacies operate under increased financial pressure due to lower reimbursement. The company also recognizes that it is challenging for clinics and pharmacies to obtain a lower cost of goods from their pharmaceutical wholesaler. Rufford is trying to change that dynamic to benefit both the clinics, pharmacies and generic manufacturers.
