Coming from one of the most artistic cities in the world; we only had to look around our hometown ‘Patan’ - in its alleyways, our founder Rabi Raj Shakya, established a small workshop with the hopes of bringing principles of compassion into people’s home through an artform. Over the span of 3 decades, Rupamaker has grown as a recognized global brand in the buddhist dhamma realm, with networks across US, Europe, China and Australia - crafting exquisite metal-based handicrafts, and traditional paintings. Apart from the craft, we aim to start a foundation to build an art baha:(a workshop/gallery/convention center of sorts)- to train youths and enthusiasts to sustain this artform, bring dhamma practioners and collectors from around the world, hold art conventions and experiment with art fusion of traditional artforms with digital innovations. With a dedicated team of artists and craftsmen working with us in crafting masterpieces, we are on a mission to enrich the Dharma community with continuous improvement of Statues and other Dharma items - incorporating the traditional techniques with modern design thinking. We derive our inspiration from the Dharma practitioners around the world and this encourages us to become better every day, not just crafting the statues, but also towards creating a happier community, hence spreading compassion around the world
