From design and communication to project management and daily operations, this mission guides everything we do. rybka's Heritage Rybka is built on a rich legacy that dates back to 1913, when Walter J. Armstrong first founded the firm. In 1933, Dr. Karl Rybka expanded the company’s reach by opening an office in Toronto, setting the stage for decades of engineering excellence. By the late 1960s, the firm - then known as Rybka, Smith and Ginsler Limited - delivered several high-profile and iconic projects across Canada. After evolving through various partnerships, the company re-emerged in 2021 as an independent building consulting firm under the leadership of Richard Armstrong, one of rybka’s long-standing members and now CEO. Most recently, rybka merged with Ellard-Willson Engineering Ltd, a firm established in the 1950s and recognized for its strong portfolio and technical expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering, particularly in educational sectors and retail commercial spaces. This merger led to the formation of Rybka Ellard Willson Incorporated, a partnership that unites decades of experience with forward-thinking innovation to design human-centered buildings that prioritize health, sustainability, and well-being of people and communities.
