Saglyk.info is a non-profit initiative developed with the mission to improve health literacy and the public’s engagement around public health issues including environmental health in Turkmenistan. The initiative works to bring together concerned Turkmen speaking audiences regardless of their geographic location. The website strives to provide essential high-quality public health information and the tools for managing health to people in Turkmenistan in an accessible language and format. Our goal is to develop timely and well-researched content that you can use to improve the health of your family and community. The website encourages comments and debate on key public health issues. The idea and the website have been developed in 2010 by individuals who believe in the importance of a free access to health information and the importance of making informed decisions about one’s health. Our goal is to fulfill website visitors’ needs in the most appropriate ways possible. The content blends articles, expert commentary and public comments to give website visitors different ways to find what they are looking for. You can access, read, share and comment on over 400 articles (Makalalar) on critical health issues that affect your health and the health of your family members and community and over 300 answers (Sorag & Jogap) to website visitors’ questions by medical professionals. While the topics covered range broadly, we include special series on reproductive health and rights, sanitation, drug addiction and tuberculosis.
