Advancing traffic and transport engineering for a safer, more connected tomorrow The SAICE Transport Engineering Division’s purpose is to advance Traffic and Transport Engineering in South Africa, aligned with current best practice in the field. Our mission is to ensure our members are equipped to deliver excellence by sharing knowledge and promoting best practice in geometric design, pavement engineering and traffic engineering. We recognise the importance of transport at local, regional, national and international levels. This includes understanding the link between transport and land use, the future shape of our towns and cities, and the activities people want to undertake to meet quality of life objectives. Transport is critical to the future of our economy, the state of our environment and the way we tackle climate change. The Division is the professional home of Traffic and Transport Engineers, Technicians and Technologists committed to shaping a safer, more connected and sustainable transport future.
